Stage 2. It’s the stage most of us couldn’t wait to reach regarding the pandemic. Almost more symbolic in some terms than tangible in what freedoms were acquired in its execution, but for me, I’ll just call it beginning number two. Coming back into focus for what is important. Not for reopening after pandemic, but for realignment into preparation for the race.

A few days ago I went on a shopping trip for some essentials like a tent, a new sleeping bag, a good water bottle, etc. My bank account weighs much less to say the least but my anticipation is growing exponentially, and I have decided to focus on a few other things as well. In my own mind I would describe it as creativity, but I know that would be quite vague so let me explain.

In the past few summer months I have been focusing on working and saving up a little bit but really lost some connection with my friends and with God, and even with myself in the process. So these last few weeks while I focus on world race preparations and last minute fundraising, I have also decided to begin to put time investments back into creativity; I have begun to cater back to the gifts that I temporarily set aside.

I wish I could say that I am in the process of publishing a novel or signing a new record label (and you never know) but lets be realistic. I’m feeding the same radical dream I have that maybe one day I could cover the side of a building with street art or sign a record label, but on a much smaller scale.

I’m doing this because in doing so it is yet another way I can praise God, and all the while grow closer to Him doing so. A way that I can use the gifts I’ve been given to reach others, even in the subtle ways. Ive made this a simple priority every time the sun pours in my window to wake me up in the morning.

So I challenge you to do the same, and invest in the creativity, the influence, or the skills you possess.

*and to share this blog as much as possible! It is the best way to keep up with the soon approaching journey!
